In 2025, the Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU) proudly hosted the African Confederation of Principals conference, bringing together school leaders from across the continent to deliberate on the future of education. The gathering served as a platform for principals to share experiences, strengthen collaboration, and address pressing challenges such as curriculum reforms, digital integration, and leadership development. By convening in Uganda, ASSHU highlighted the country’s growing role in shaping continental education policy and fostering unity among African educators.

The conference also emphasized the importance of building resilient education systems that can adapt to global changes while remaining rooted in African values. Discussions ranged from enhancing teacher welfare and student-centered learning to promoting inclusive education and cross-border partnerships. With ASSHU at the helm, the event underscored the critical role of school leaders in driving innovation and ensuring quality education for all.
