ABOUT US
A professional body to promote school leadership
The Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU) is a professional member association bringing together secondary school leaders across Uganda. ASSHU provides a platform for headteachers to unite, share experiences, strengthen professional capacity, and collectively contribute to the advancement of education and school leadership.
The mandate of ASSHU is to:
1-Promote professionalism and effective leadership among secondary school headteachers.Advocate for the interests and welfare of secondary school leaders and institutions
2-Strengthen collaboration, networking, and information sharing among members.
3-Support implementation of government education policies and reforms.
4-Promote quality education and effective school governance
5-Provide a platform for professional dialogue and stakeholder engagement
5-Enhance institutional leadership, innovation, and accountability in schools
6-Promote research, capacity development, and knowledge sharing in educational leadership.
7-Represent secondary school headteachers in national education policy discussions and stakeholder engagements.
